Might want to research the history of quit bans all the way back in the Bungie started that back in Halo Reach but had no such thing in Halo 3.
During the Halo: Reach Multiplayer Beta, Bungie experimented with a new type of matchmaking ban applied to quitters. Since the end of the Beta, it seems that Bungie has been hard at work refining the Quitter Ban to include more serious penalties. It’d be nice if the host left in Halo 3 the host that is choosen isn’t someone in Taiwan or the moon.
It’d be nice if the teams where balanced It’d be nice if the people could late join instead of a 5 vs 1. That just isn’t an enjoyable experience but at the same time I understand how frustrating it is when you loose 1 or 2 people right at the start because they didn’t feel like playing the game mode that got selected.
I do like the new lobby system in Reach though. If you get a room of good people you don’t have to worry about parting up to stay in that room, the game just leaves you in there and ques up another match. I hate rage quitters and they should be marked as such on their profile. What Bungie should do is re-balance the teams if people leave or just end the game, that way you avoid being the only guy left on the other team.
I hate it when that happens. That is a very selfish piece. Yeah but if they just ended the game when someone quit then games would be ending left and right.

View Full Version : Penalty for leaving sessions? I suggest that this game need a penalty for people leaving sessions e. Why do I suggest this? This is also a feature that the Halo series have. I think that this would be a terrible idea personally. How will the game be able to discern who was disconnected involuntarily, and who left willingly?
I get disconnected from matches all the time, and I’ve gotten lots of messages from people accusing me of leaving early for various reasons. I wouldn’t want to end up being punished for the servers for being as terrible as they are, and kicking me out of games every other moment. The waiting times are bad enough, along with the near constant disconnects I think if they implement a punishment for people leaving a session, it should only apply when the player manually uses their menu and quit button to do so.
And shouldn’t apply while in the lobby, because I’ve had really laggy games where I don’t want to rematch, but feel it’s appropriate to send a “well played” message to someone in the game. The time limit allowed isn’t sufficient to send a message even a short one which is mostly pre-programmed into the PS3’s memory and quit before it auto-rematches and puts you in the new lobby.

So I don’t know if anyone else saw this but rage quitters are now punished by being prevented from matchmaking for 15 minutes. Have any other games done this yet? I know brad talked about it but how people feel about this? I think it’s great detterent. That’s hilarious. I still believe the best defense, though, is a good offense: just play the game for fun’s sake, rage-quitters.
